Style and functionality operate in perfect synergy with this intuitive keypad which features a crisp high-contrast 3.5” full colour LCD touchscreen display with an incredibly wide viewing angle. Opus’ touchscreen offers a huge array of control and can be fully customised for the fastest access to your most frequently used functions and it can even be adapted to feature unique icons and screens for total personalisation.
Video playback is also possible enabling you to cue-up movies and even watch content from your iPod or MP3 player.*
Opus’ new Hotspot™ software is a key development which allows simple control of a multitude of source equipment from the convenience of the touchscreen. This displays the original on-screen user interface for the most intuitive control of a wide range of devices. Indeed some of those most likely to benefit are iPod and Apple TV customers who can now control iPods and - in the case of Apple TV - access iTunes content including HD video, music and other media from any Opus-equipped room.
This builds upon Opus’ recent ability to integrate with Windows Media Center PCs which can also be accessed via the touchscreen for enjoyment of music, movies and much more all over the home. This feature is possible thanks to Opus Navigator™ which provides seamless control of this inexpensive yet sophisticated PC.
And now, the WCU600 can also control an even greater number of third party home automation systems such as lighting, blinds, audio/video distribution, media servers, HVAC, security and CCTV making it a true smart home gateway which sets a new industry standard for performance at this price point.
Simple adjustments can be made using the user menu which offers fine tuning of bass, treble and balance.
Other clever features include the flush interchangeable faceplate which has a number of colour options to suit every environment, meanwhile a built-in clock/timer enables you to ‘wake-up’ to a favourite radio station.
When it’s time to celebrate the incredible touchscreen comes into its own; Opus Party Mode means you can set your Opus system to play the same music in every room when entertaining.
For remote control, the wide angle infra red receiver allows control of the system from anywhere in the room.

Brightness and contrast adjustment concealed behind faceplate on front of keypad
IR connector allows addition of an external IR receiver to offer full remote control of keypad when located out of range
Addition of IR and basic IR macros to main menu source buttons enables simultaneous control of connected devices to improve user control. e.g. selecting Video Server source on the Opus WCU600 can now provide IR commands to power-up connected screen and select correct input
Another additional macro enables an All-Off command which switches all head-end sources to Standby from any WCU600 touchscreen for improved energy saving
